How this estimate works
Seed pounds = lawn square feet ÷ 1,000 × the bag rate × (1 + allowance ÷ 100).
Seed, sod, and fertilizer use different rates and buying units. Use the grass species, bag label, supplier coverage, and soil test appropriate to the site.
